MSCA Goals
Goals are crosswalked and consistent with the goals of the
American School Counselor Association
Goal I: To promote the full implementation of the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program as an integral part of student success in partnership with stakeholders and other organizations
Goal II: To coordinate Missouri School Counselor Association goals with Missouri State Board of Education goals, Career and Technical Education goals and American School Counselor Association goals, demonstrating that professional school counselors are skilled educators who are held to high professional and ethical standards integral to student achievement/success
Goal III: To support legislative policy and issues that adovate for the diverse needs of all students in a global economy and fully funded comprehensive guidance and counseling program
Goal IV: To encourage leadership at local, state, and national levels to advocate for and lead change initiatives that support and/or enhance comprehensive guidance and counseling programs for the students of the State of Missouri
Goal V: To provide professional development opportunities in areas of critical need
Goal VI: To support ongoing research and the use of data to substantiate and support comprehensive guidance and counseling programs as integral components of student achievement/success
Goal VII: To promote an effective organizational structure/policy to facilitate the accomplishment of the goals and objectives that support and/or enhance comprehensive guidance and counseling programs and the students of the State of Missouri
