Professional Development Committee

The MSCA Professional Development Committee plans professional development offerings throughout the year, including webinars, Spring Take Ten Conference, affinity groups, etc.

Committee Meetings

The committee meets virtually the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 4:00 p.m. To join a meeting, please contact msca@c2cpro.solutions.

Committee Goals

• Provide professional development on the implications of new laws, leadership and advocacy principles, program implementation strategies, and research-based best practices. (Collaborate with Legislative Advisory Committee, Ethics Committee, and Equity & Inclusion Committee as needed)

• Maintain a variety of delivery methods, including webinars, conferences, and online resources, to meet diverse member needs.

• Produce accessible crosswalks between Missouri School Counseling Programs, ASCA RAMP, and Missouri Learning Standards/Mindsets & Behaviors, and present them at conference sessions. (Collaborate with Program Committee)

• Run an implementation webinar series (overall + each program area) and track participation, aiming for a 20% increase by 2027.

• Create and share universal templates for program implementation, integrated into PD offerings. (Collaborate with Publications & Papers Committee for publication)

• Track PD participation and pre/post feedback to support strategic plan reviews.
